Email Signatures - How to Create Them in Gmail And Outlook Express!

Email signatures can be a valuable internet marketing tool that most people simply overlook. Just think of all of the emails that you send out every day. Each one is a chance to promote your business for FREE!

In Gmail:

Click the 'settings' tab at the top of your inbox window
Scroll down to 'signatures'
Click the little button by the entry box to enable your email signatures
Enter your message in the box. It does not have to be limited to just a link. You can say whatever you want. You can even enter an image such as a banner.
Just make sure that you do enter a link to your business.
Highlight the link
At the top of the box is a button that looks like a line of 3 chain links. Click this. It will change your link into a clickable hyperlink.
- Fill in the window that comes up with the entire link that you want people to go to starting with 'http://'.
- If you don't know the entire link do a Google search for the page that you want. When you find it, copy the address from the top of your browser. Then past it in the signatures link area.
- Make sure that you test the link.
- After you do scroll to the bottom of the 'settings' area and click 'Save Changes'.

There you have it for Gmail. The next time you send out an email you will have free exposure for your business.

Now for Outlook Express:

At the top of the main window click on the 'Tools' tab
In the drop down menu
Click on 'Options'
In the window that opens up click on the 'Mail Format' tab.
Scroll down and click on 'Signatures'
Fill in the box with the message that you want to have in your email signature.
To put a link in use the hyperlink button at the top of the entry box. (It looks like a little globe.)
In the window that opens up enter the full address that you want to send people to.
Click 'Ok'

Keep in mind that you don't have to limit your self to promoting just your site.

If you don't have a site of your own, you can get good mileage out of this method using an affiliate link in your email signatures.
