The single biggest mistake made by most beginners when starting their internet marketing home business is trying to "wing it". In other words, it's like building a house without a foundation. Now is that really possible?

Although we do NOT condone this problem, we can fully understand why people resort to this mince-meal approach to their business. People are always looking for a quick fix to their problems, and many times this is NOT the best way to do business... that is, if you're looking to achieve home business success.

To most people starting an internet marketing home business looks pretty simple on the outset. It seems so easy to set up a website or a blog, do some basic advertising and then sit back and relax. Then when nothing happens they move on to something else, without even knowing the outcome of their efforts.

The major problem here is that most people perform these tasks in a very unfocused manner. They don't know why they use certain forms of advertising, why they created their website or blog the way they do... there is no logic to their actions.

As a matter of fact, many of them don't even know why they started an online business. If you were to ask them why, they would simply answer, "to make more money".

Now, I'm sure you might have the same answer... but do you know why you're doing this? Do you have a plan how you're going to achieve your objectives? Do you have specific "action steps" written down?

Success doesn't just come like that, it's a planned event... and if you're hung up with the notion that you can achieve home business success with a "mince meal" approach, you're in for a rude awakening.

This is what separates those who succeed from those who fail... and the sooner you identify and eradicate this problem, the sooner you will be on your way to achieving your objectives.

To achieve your objectives you MUST have a detailed "road map" to guide you from where you are to where you want to be. From point A to point B. You wouldn't leave your home to go cross country to a strange place without a road map to show you the way, would you?

Well starting your internet marketing home business with the intention of achieving success is no different! You MUST plan in advance.

Now here are some questions you need to ask yourself before getting started:

* Who you will be selling to - your target market...
* Where can you find your target audience...
* What types of offers/advertising your target market responds to...
* How will you leverage your efforts so that you get more leads and more traffic for less money...
* What different methods of getting leads and traffic to your site for free will you use...
* How do you nurture and build a relationship with your prospects long term and turn them into repeat customers...
* How to develop passive income streams for long term profitability and security. (very important)

Now, I want you to understand that these are crucial points to consider before you begin... and the only way to address this is by having a detailed step-by-step plan of action for each individual phase of the process.

I will also stress here the importance of focus! Although everything will be working together as one system, each phase of the process is to be tackled separately. Finish one part before moving on to the next.

I know many of you will just look at these points and try to jumble everything together, trying to speed up the process and get everything done at once. DON'T! You will regret it later on.

Many people are jumping on the internet band wagon daily because there is the belief that they can make some quick cash to help them pay there bills. Now, I want you to understand this... there is money to made on the internet, and a lot of it, BUT... you WILL have to learn some things, and DO some work! Otherwise, stick to your day Job.

Get this, the planning phase of your internet marketing home business is the most important part of the process!

The first thing you need to do is to sit down with your pen and paper and write out what you want to accomplish with your business... and how you intend to get there. Everybody will approach this differently as each of us look at things from a different perspective, but this has to be done!

DON'T try to write a complicated plan at first, you just need a guideline to get the ball rolling. As you start to get into the process more, you will be able to fine tune your blueprint further.

Now, I want you understand this, if you focus and follow through with your plan you will be very surprised to see how things will begin to fall into place. Putting your thoughts on paper can have almost a magical effect.
