Internet Marketing Tools - Are Podcasts Hot Or More Work Than They Are Worth?

One of the biggest questions people want to know when it comes to podcasts is how do you actually get people to learn about them? How do you really get subscribers? Really what you want to know is, are podcasts one of the viable internet marketing tools for growing your list...or is it going to be more work than it is worth?

Mostly people are asking this because they are coming from the email marketing mind set...or from trying to get their websites found. So it really is a natural question, I mean there are so many websites out there it can be tough to be found...you really have to niche down your topic, right?

Well, there are is a lot less competition in the world of podcasts. So instead of having maybe thousands or millions of sites out there competing for the same niche you might have a hundred.

On the internet, Google is the big dog...well in podcasting, iTunes is the big dog. So even though you can listen to a podcast through your computer, so many people have iPods or other MP3 players that they are looking to "feed", this is the place to search for your topic.

So you go to iTunes and click on the podcast link and you can do a search on your niche.

Now you find you topic and there are people searching for it and not a lot of competition. Awesome! Go create your podcasts...and iTunes has tutorials right on their site on how to create podcasts using various systems...like Mac OS X or Windows or with GarageBand. They even have tutorials on creating video podcasts.

Then you get your podcast on iTunes...again, they cover the entire process, which is really sweet. So you can learn how to create your podcast, submitting it, getting your feed set up everything all right there in one spot.

And they also educate podcast listeners, on how to subscribe and even how to share podcasts. So iTunes is a really great resource for podcasters-and it is such a popular place, where people are going to find things to listen to.

People are hungry for information and they know that they can get a lot of good content to listen to through iTunes, so that is one of the number one places to put your podcasts and get subscribers. You can put your podcasts other places too, but start with the big dog!

Podcasts are still pretty new...the competition for any topic is a lot less than in Google so, yes, podcasting is one of the hot internet marketing tools that you should take advantage of to grow your business.
