How to Create Online Videos - Part I

Time:2010-03-05 19:00:32  Source:Ezinearticles  Author:Christoph Puetz

I am experimenting with creating videos for my different websites. They are not really sales videos just yet - I am mainly explaining things and provide value by making video tutorials. I want to learn this entire process first before making full-blown sales videos. Here are a few things I already learned and that I think might be beneficial for you in case you want to do the same.TbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

IntroTbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

Create a nice intro that is somewhere between 15-30 seconds long. Use this intro to brand your website and to catch attention. A good intro prepares the viewer for the content. I purchased some music clips that are free of copyrights. These music clips are energetic and powerful and "heat up the situation" quite nicely so that the viewer is excited when the content part starts. You have to create an intro only once and can re-use it among all the videos for the same website. You also want to consider an exit sequence for the end of the video. Lately I am using a 30 seconds music clip and just display a slide with the name of my website and the associated URL.TbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

Be DynamicTbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

The other day I went to a business seminar where several speakers were giving presentations. Some presentations were lame not because of the topic, but due to the way how they were presented. The speakers of those presentations never moved. You could have put a tree in front of the people and a narrator would have just spoken from the background - it was that exciting. The PowerPoint slides were the same way - black text on white background - nothing else. The speakers that caught the attention of the audience better, had PowerPoints that showed a lot of action and movement. The speakers even walked around with a hand-Microphone and stood between the audiences and really interacted with people. Even the ones that did not walk around used their body language appropriately to "keep the audience awake". These things really made a difference and the same rules apply to an online video. Do not lose the audience by showing a single screenshot the entire time. Use transitions to break up your speech into blocks or chapters. It will make a difference.TbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

Be visibleTbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

Don't hide behind a computer screen. Show your face. Be visible on a video. It helps tremendously if people can see the person that is talking to them. It builds up trust and can increase your sales big time. Get a cheap tripod to place the camera in a good spot. You do not need a second person to record yourself. Good software allows you to easily cut out pieces from a video and to mix it all together to a great video presentation.TbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com

In part II of this Online Video Guide I will go into more detail about what software to use and what kind of camera will do the job without breaking the bank. I will also explain details about where to record your videos and what to consider in regards to that.TbSFree Articles Directory | Hostsee.com
