5. Costs should not be too high. Most, if not all, of the features offered should be included in the basic fees you pay and only special items should be charged extra.

6. Does your web host understand your requirements? Are you an affiliate marketer for example and want a host that fully understands how you operate? Do you need comprehensive Search Engine Optimization? Check out your host because most internet marketers fail to ask the relevant questions.

7. Is security a high priority for your host? Does their management system ensure their hardware and software are fully up to date with the most recent security measures in place to avoid hacking and spamming as just two examples?
